Jacob and Julia never got sun-burnt (except for Jacob's nose) - we were very careful, and we used very generous amounts of SPF-50 sun block frequently. The UV exposure in South Africa is quite high, and fair-skinned folk like us can get badly burned in a couple of hours on the beach.
